After the tournament we have really enjoyed the country. On Saturday, we spent the day touring Gruyere. And yes, we did have some cheese. We visited a castle. On Sunday we toured Fribourg, the town of our hotel, then we went to the wrestling banquet / closing ceremony. The US team took home 5 gold medals (out of 50 total weight classes) and took 3rd overall behind Russia and Germany.
On Monday we travelled to Zermatt, the south part of Switzerland, in the Swiss Alps. We hiked and shopped there. Tuesday we travel back to Zurich.
We are looking forward to being home and sharing stories of our trip. We will be home late tonight and will be recovering from jet lag Thursday.
